JMarc has also demonstrated the ability to manage projects and work with other internal and external resources as needed. Below are a few case studies for JMarc projects as well as a description of our web business and capabilities.

Case Study – Call Center

JMarc designed, implemented and supported the call center software that is used to answer and track all customer calls to a large pharmaceutical company in New Jersey. This call center deals with questions ranging from product inquiries to drug emergencies. The software interfaces with five departments and tracks calls including managing the assembly of online documents to answer inquiries.

JMarc provided significant integration and customization services for the various technologies used: Vantive, Oracle, SQL Server, Documentum, and Visual Basic COM objects. JMarc was also charged with defining and implementing business processes to map business needs with technology and capabilities.

This project was completed in a very short four month window in 1999, has been enhanced routinely, and is still in use today to track all inquiries made to the company for any product or issue.

Case Study – Custom Database

JMarc was responsible for designing, implementing and supporting a custom clinical trial management system for a large pharmaceutical in New Jersey. This system tracks payments, budgets, milestones, customers, grants, contacts, and other trial project information.

The project replaced several legacy systems that required significant transition efforts. It resulted in a streamlined approach that made staff more efficient and able to both focus on more important tasks as well as track information via custom reports that aggregated disperse information into manageable summaries. In addition, the system has bi-directional interaction with other computer systems including SAP.

The system was built from the ground up to meet the customer’s needs and continues to evolve to adapt to new business objectives and strategies. Technologies used in this project included Visual Basic, SQL Server, and Oracle.

Website Design and Hosting

JMarc partners created SmartWebDesign.com to run our web business which has grown beyond the pharmaceutical market. SmartWebDesign has the same partners and staff as JMarc, but the name is more marketing focused to better describe the services offered.

Our service line includes everything needed to bring a business online including custom web design, database/application development, hosting, software that allows clients to edit their own site, and much more.

Our hosting facility is monitored 24/7, climate controlled, high security requiring fingerprints/card assess/onsite signups, and multiple and redundant connections to the Internet, dozens of “home runs” to the largest Internet providers (MCI, AOL, Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, etc.). In addition, we utilize state of the art rack servers, firewalls, DNS servers, and pro-actively monitor and patch them all. Our experience in information technology work in the pharmaceutical industry was applied to ensure our web hosting facilities are top notch.
